AUSMAP Microplastics
AUSMAP is a program initiative that we have developed in partnership with Macquarie University.
The program involves us working with a group of students to scientifically collect, analyse and report of microplastics that we have found in coastal and other water based shorelines.

About this excursion
AUSMAP is a nationwide program using citizen science to document microplastic pollution.
Excursion activities
- Use a standard method to assess and record microplastic pollution on Australian shorelines
- Train students in microplastic pollution survey and data recording methods
- Engage citizens in monitoring Australian shorelines with standard methods and uploading data
- Learn about microplastics
- Upload data on microplastic pollution levels to Australian communities
