At Cascade, our relationships with the local Gumbaynggirr people have been forged over many years.
Whether you would like us to deliver programs that connect students to Country, introduce them to language and traditions, or to practically experience the many skills and knowledge that the First Nations people of our region have honed over many thousands of years, we can develop a program for you.
Our programs are authentic and are developed in partnership with local Gumbaynggirr elders and educators. These programs are presented by local community members and our trained staff.
Programs include our Bushtucker, Connecting to Country for Kids, Communication with symbols, Printmaking, Historical Indigenous tools and artefacts, Gumbaynggirr History and Local Coffs Harbour Culture and places.
Our programs and practices are guided by the Environmental and Zoo Education Centres Reconciliation Action Plan.
